ワー茶園で摘まれた、ヒマーチャル・プラデーシュ州産のホールリーフ・ファーストフラッシュ紅茶。インド最北端のこの地域はダージリンほど有名ではありませんが、『神々の土地』として知られ、ダージリンに負けず劣らず素晴らしい産地です。春の初めの夜明けに摘み取られた、これまでに味わったことのないほど明るく輝く紅茶です。
I was skeptical about a first flush from Himachal, but these whole leaves from Wah are genuinely bright and delicate. Brewed it a bit cooler and got a clean, almost floral cup that kept its character through the second steep. The bag arrived sealed fresh with plenty of leaf for the price.
The leaves are whole and dense, unfolding beautifully in the pot for a second and even third steep. It’s got that clean, mountain air character I wasn’t expecting from a first flush, with none of the astringency I usually brace for.
