Our GenMatcha is made from organically grown sencha green tea, combined with toasted Japanese brown rice - ground into a very fine powder for use in a tea latte - served hot or cold.
That popcorn aroma is unmistakable the second you open the bag, and it carries right through the cup. I've been brewing it hot in the morning and the toasted rice adds a nutty depth that makes the sencha taste less grassy and more rounded.
The grind is so fine it practically dissolves, and that toasted rice sweetness balances the green tea bitterness perfectly. I've been brewing it every morning and the popcorn-like aroma fills my whole kitchen. This is the first genmaicha I've tried that actually tastes as good as it smells.
